By downloading or using EdgeSage, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The service
EdgeSage is a knife-steel comparator and AR-guided sharpening coach for iOS, described in full on our home page. Some features work fully offline; others require an account or a network connection.
Accounts
You're responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials to yourself. Create one account per person — don't share logins.
Subscriptions & purchases
- EdgeSage Pro Monthly — $4.99/mo, auto-renewing.
- EdgeSage Pro Annual — $39.99/yr, auto-renewing.
All purchases are billed and managed through the App Store. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID account settings. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If your subscription lapses, your knives beyond the free limit become read-only until you resubscribe or delete them — we never hold your data hostage.
Acceptable use
- Don't reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the app's backend credentials.
- Don't abuse the Grok-powered chat or photo-ID features beyond normal personal use.
- Don't submit false or abusive community leaderboard reports.
- Respect any affiliate-link disclosures if and when that feature ships.
Content and data
You own the knife and session data you create. When you submit a community leaderboard report, you grant EdgeSage a license to display that contribution in anonymized, aggregated form. The compiled steel database itself — ratings, compositions, and recipes — is EdgeSage's own content.
Disclaimer
Sharpening involves sharp tools and abrasives — use appropriate care and any safety equipment recommended by your sharpening system's manufacturer. EdgeSage provides guidance, not a guarantee of a particular edge outcome. The Steel Wizard, comparator ratings, and Grok-powered features are informational and are not a substitute for a steel manufacturer's own specifications.
Limitation of liability
EdgeSage is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
